A professional artist for over 30 years, Beverly's paintings of coastal scenes & landscapes, portraits & spiritual-themed work, are eagerly sought after. Her original oils have been exhibited extensively in galleries throughout the Eastern United States and sold to private & Corporate collectors, gracing the walls of both home & office. A prolific artist, Beverly also offers commissioned pieces, as well as teaches budding artists of all ages the fundamentals of oil painting. She loves what she does and it shows!
The daughter of a Naval officer, Beverly was blessed with the opportunity to travel near & far as a child. She embraced this rich & varied experience by creating images of her young journey with pencil & chalk. Her talent was obvious to those around her and, soon, Beverly herself realized the importance of pursuing her love of art.
A Fine Arts graduate of Pennsylvania State University, and further graduate work in Landscape Painting at Maryland Institute of Art, helped to create a solid foundation for Beverly's technique: the fluidity of light seen in her impressionistic brush stroke, which draws attention to a sense of calm in the moment.
Today, Beverly & her husband call State College the geographic center of Pennsylvania, home, sweet, home. Her studio is bright & welcoming, with paintings in various stages of completion, greeting those who come to visit. Their home sits in the high valley, allowing for sweeping views of the Appalachian Mountains right at their doorstep. In fact, many of the pastoral scenes you find in Beverly's work come from this area. Her longing for the East Coast is realized every year with trips to Cape Cod, Florida and anywhere in-between. There she finds the edge of the ocean lends itself to small plein-air paintings in which spontaneity and immediacy of brush are crucial to the art form's success.
