Here at the Green Drake, we hope to make a wide variety of art accessible and enjoyable to our neighbors as well as visitors to the Penns Valley area. Below you will find a sampling of work by our represented artists. We will eventually have a separate page of work by each artist as well as biographical information. While many of our fine artists and most of our craft artists are from here in central Pennsylvania, we also represent several national and international artists.
In addition, we schedule monthly special shows in part of the gallery space so there will always be something new to see at the Green Drake. Our monthly shows will feature an opening reception with live music and other performance art on our small stage.
Upcoming Special Shows:
"On Stage at the Drake" on select Friday evenings starting at 7:30. Come and enjoy our scheduled performer for the evening or Open Mic musicians. First Fridays will continue to be our special art show receptions, also with live music.
We now carry a growing collection of CDs by regional musicians and books by regional authors. You'll be amazed at the talent here in central Pennsylvania.
Special Shows:
Our first Theatrical Event! : On Friday, April 20, the gallery will close to regular traffic at 8 pm to prepare for the 8:30 curtain time of our first theatrical performance, a three person play called, appropriately, "Art". Directed and produced by Jennifer Montminy, the play will explore questions of "what is art" and "what is friendship", and what happens when the two collide? There will be opportunities for attendees to browse the gallery before and after the show, and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for this show, but donations will gladly be accepted. The play runs about an hour and a quarter. Support local theater!
